Sofia Kenin put forward a stellar performance against Irina Bara to reach the next round of
Roland Garros and she was relieved it wasn't as dramatic as her previous matches.
Sofia Kenin played her best match at the Roland Garros today against Irina Bara from Romania where she beat her 6-2 6-0. Her stay in Paris so far was highlighted by difficult matches as he had to go in three sets in the two previous round. Speaking of her match today she said:
"It wasn't as dramatic which I'm quite happy about. I kind of was a bit tired of those dramatic matches so I just wanted to try to start off well and finish off really well."
She did also say that towards the end of the match she was a bit careless trying to hit drop shots "just for fun" as she put it. She was asked about the season getting paused right after she had her big break with winning the Australian Open to which she reflected by saying:
"I guess it gives me a chance to work on my game, my fitness. I try to take the positives whatever they are even if it was like a little thing."
Well now that she is back to tennis she looks very good and how far that will take her at Roland Garros remains to be seen.
