Rafael Nadal's coaching team is getting a boost with former Spanish professional tennis player Marc Lopez joining.
The Spaniard is set to make his return to the courts next week at the Mubadala Tennis Championships which will be the first time he is back on the courts after several months of rehab. The recovery process was a slow one but Nadal needed to do it in order to be fully healthy for the 2022 season. His approach of trying to play through it in 2021 did not yield good results hence the decision to call time on his season early.
For the upcoming season, he will see a familiar face joining his coaching team. Former player Marc Lopez with whom Nadal used to play doubles will be joining his coaching team. The pair won 5 doubles trophies together including the 2016 Olympics. As of now, the Spaniard has three official coaches: Carlos Moya, Francis Roig, and Marco Lopez.
The news was first reported by Marca and is yet to be confirmed by any official party.
