Spanish tennis legend Manolo Santana passed away and
Rafael Nadal paid tribute to him thanking him for everything he did in tennis.
Former Wimbledon Champion Manolo Santana passed away at the age of 83 and Rafael Nadal paid tribute to the late tennis legend on social media. Nadal knew Santana very well thanks to the many interactions they shared around their common passion - tennis. The former world number one achieved the greatest sucess of his career by lifting hte 1966 Wimbledon trophy.
After retiring he opted to live in Marbella where he ran a local tennis club that was frequented by many tennis players including Nadal. Nadal paid tribute to Santana by writing:
"I have just received the terrible news of the passing of our great Manolo Santana. As I have said many times in the past: thank you so much for what you did for our country and for marking the path of so many. You were always a reference, a friend, and a person close to everyone."
"We will miss you Manolo; you will always be unique and special. Greetings to your family and a lot of strength at this time. We will never forget you!"
