Murray not overreacting after early exit at Queen's Club Championships: "There are a lot of positive signs there"

Andy Murray saw his 10-match winning streak snapped by Alex de Minaur at the Queen's Club Championships but the Brit is not overreacting after the loss.

Murray was playing really strong tennis leading up to this event but he stumbled in the first match against a really strong player. Most of his wins came against lower-ranked players on the Challenger Tour so many wondered whether it was real. De Minaur had no issues beating a fatigue Murray 6-3 6-1 which left many wondering whether his previous ten wins on grass were overhyped. Murray himself doesn't think so as he's still very confident in his tennis:

“Obviously after today, it's easy to overreact. I lost to a good player and it was obviously very comfortable. But at the same time, over the past couple of weeks, yes, it's obviously not the same level of opponents, but I won the [Nottingham Challenger] last week without dropping a set. I only lost one set in Surbiton. Was holding serve very comfortably. Was moving well, hitting the ball well. There are a lot of positive signs there.”

Murray did play a bit too much lately but it was in order to try and become a seed at the event. He needed at least one win in Queen's, preferably two but that won't be happening. He won't be a seed at SW19 but he's still confident about his chances:

“Just recharge a little bit, and then go to work on my game. I don't want to overanalyse. Today [there are] definitely some things I can do better, but at the same time, I have done lots of good things over the last couple of weeks as well. I want to keep going in that direction. Keep serving well, keep working on my movement. That was something we spent a lot of time working on before Surbiton and Nottingham, and it's really crucial for me that I'm moving well. So [I will] definitely spend a lot of time working on that.”
