Novak Djokovic has declared that he will do all he can to help Team Serbia achieve "every possible win" at the Davis Cup Finals in Malaga later this month.
The World No. 1 has seen a huge amount of success this season, from winning three out of four majors (and equaling Margaret Court's record of 24 Grand Slam titles in the process), to extending his record run at the top of the ATP Ranking to almost 400 weeks. However, one of his proudest achievements in 2023 seems to be helping his country's team to qualify for the Final 8 at the Davis Cup.
In an interview with Eurosport last month, the 36-year-old said that his "greatest desire is to win the Davis Cup", a goal which he re-iterated following his victory at the Paris Masters last week. The team is captained by Viktor Troicki and also includes the likes of Miomir Kecmanovic and Laslo Djere. They will kick off their campaign in Malaga by facing Great Britain in their quarter-final tie.

Djokovic committed to doing everything he can for the Team

In a recent YouTube video, Djokovic expressed his excitement ahead of the competition, calling it an "honor and a privilege" to represent his country. He also stressed his determination to do everything he can to secure Team Serbia their first victory since 2010.
"Hello everyone, I'm excited to be part of the Serbian national team at the Davis Cup in Malaga Final 8 in only a few weeks time. We'll have the best eight teams in the world compete in Malaga for the most prestigious trophy in our sport and in team competition.
"I'm looking forward. It's always a great honor and privilege to represent Serbia on a big stage in the Davis Cup. We had one title back in 2010. It's one of my fondest and most beautiful memories on a tennis court. Being able to share that with my friends and colleagues in the national team. I hope I'll be healthy and contribute to every possible win to my country," he said.
However, Djokovic will have the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin to think about first, where he will be aiming to defend his title from the other Top 8 players of the 2023 season. His first-round opponent will be Denmark's Holger Rune, with the other qualifiers being Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Alexander Zverev.

Novak Djokovic says finishing the year as world #1 & Davis Cup are his main goals for the end of the year: “I think I need one more victory to secure number one, that is my main goal, apart from the Davis Cup. The next three days are recovery, I will put the racket aside and…
