Rafael Nadal's plans to return to tennis are seemingly gaining some steam as Pedro Fullana reported on Tuesday with his training base set and even the likely tournament he will return at as his fans eagerly await his news.
Nadal will supposedly travel to Kuwait to train in the first half of December, likely due to the heat that will be in Australia due to it being their summer and it being winter currently in Europe. Also he has a Rafael Nadal Academy over in the country so will use that as a training base.
He will then travel to Australia at the end of the month to train and play in the first few days in January. He could face stiff competition if his warm-up of choice is set with the Brisbane International being mooted.
Taking place in the first week of 2024, Ben Shelton, Holger Rune and Andy Murray are among those not playing United Cup and will be involved. While in the WTA side, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina and Naomi Osaka are all involved adding real star power and a dilemma to tennis fans watching either tournament.
Now Nadal could yet be added to the mix. He has said for a while that he intends to announce his return plans very soon and if correct, fans will see him at least once before the
Australian Open. A year on from his injury defeat against Mackenzie McDonald which started the beginning of the end for the Spaniard.
