Stefanos Tsitsipas defeats Emil Ruusuvuori in Rotterdam opener

Stefanos Tsitsipas had some early issues in this match but he rallied in time to win the opening set 7-5 and then he cruised in the second 6-1.

Tsitsipas faced Ruusuvouri last year in Stockholm and won the match comfortably. This time around he faced some early issues as his opponent took the early thanks to some clean ball-striking. Ruusuvuori has a really heavy game with his groundstrokes and he can create a lot of trouble for players if things work really well.

It didn't work out too well early and Ruusuvuori served for the set at 5-4. He lost his serve and expectedly he collapsed after that. Tsitsipas closed the first set on a 3-0 run and then outplayed his opponent comfortably in the second set. Everything that went in for his opponent in the first set missed wide in the second set.

6-1 was the final score in the second set. Tsitsipas had 9 aces and added 19 winners in the match having only 8 unforced errors in total. Just an overall good win from Tsitsipas who played in the final last year.
