Stefanos Tsitsipas has been the best performing player on clay in 2021 and he will compete at the 2021 Lyon Open ahead of the Roland Garros.
The Greek has had a great clay season in 2021 so far winning the Monte-Carlo Masters, reaching the Barcelona final and having good runs in Madrid and Rome. His fondness of clay has been well document as he revealed after winning the Monte-Carlo Masters.
His form has been so good that even Boris Becker called a realistic winner of the 2021 Roland Garros. Now the Greek will get another shot at a title at the 2021 Lyon Open. It was announced on the social media pages of the event that he has been awarded the final WC into the main draw.
Another notable WC entry has been Dominic Thiem who received his yesterday. The duo enhances an already strong lineup of the event that was headlined by Schartzman initially. The event has not been held in 2020 with the 2019th edition being won by Benoit Paire who defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final.
