Dominic Thiem officially achieved his goal for the clay season which is to improve his ranking enough to enter the main draw of Roland Garros.
It comes after a few solid wins in the past two weeks which will push him back into the top 100 giving him enough of a points cushion not to have to worry about Roland Garros. His goal ahead of the clay season was to earn enough points to put himself in a position of not having to play the qualifier to make the event's main draw.
With the few wins in Estoril and Monte-Carlo, Thiem did just that. He'll still play in the coming weeks in order to improve his ranking even further. He will even play some challenges to play himself into a good rhythm because he needs it. The confidence is slowly returning and a few more wins would do him good. Doesn't have to be on the ATP main tour level.
