"You can't argue against the statistics" says Alexander Zverev backing Djokovic as GOAT

Novak Djokovic and Alexander Zverev have a very good relationship on the court and off the court built on mutual respect for each other.

The duo has battled many times on the court with both players scoring huge victories in the process. One of the biggest wins for Zverev in his career was the one in Tokyo against Djokovic where the Serbian was cruising towards an easy victory. Zverev admires Djokovic a lot which is why he truly thinks the Serbian is the greatest of all time. He said:

"I know a lot of tennis fans are more for Roger or Rafa, but you can’t argue against the statistics. Novak has won the most Grand Slams with Roger and Rafa. He’s been number one in the world for most weeks and has finished number one most years, Novak has won most of the Masters titles and a lot more."

Zverev himself idolized Federer growing up and still considers him his favorite players but he is also very realistic after getting to know Djokovic better over the last couple of years:

"You can’t always go against the numbers and say that Roger or Rafa are better because we’ve all been fans of them from an early age. Sometimes you have to look at things realistically and Novak’s records are simply a fact.”
