Singapore Tennis Open is back on the WTA Tour

The WTA Singapore Open, a women’s tennis tournament on the WTA Tour, first ran from 1986 to 1994 before making its return in 2025. Initially played on indoor hard courts in its debut year, the event shifted to outdoor hard courts from 1987 onward and continues on the same surface since its revival. Coming from the Australian swing, many players that didn't succeed at the first Grand Slam of the 2021 season wanted to improve their form during the series of ATP 250 tournaments right after the Australian Open. Adrian Mannarino and John Millman entered the draw as the top seeded players but failed to get far.

On the other hand, it was no. 4 in Singapore, Alexander Bublik and unseeded Alexei Popyrin who battled in the final. The young Aussie turned the match around after Bublik won the first set to win his first ATP title and add 250 points to the ATP Rankings.
