Sinner mixes training and fun in Dubai
Jannik
Sinner is making the most of his off-season by balancing intense training with
some well-deserved relaxation. The World No. 1 is in Dubai, focusing on
preparations for 2025. He shared an Instagram Reel showcasing his pre-season
training at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy Tennis Centre, as well as enjoying
time at the beach, where he had fun playing football on the sand.
The 2-time
Grand Slam champion appears to strike a good balance between training sessions
and leisure. In another video shared on his social media, Sinner wished his
friend Antonio Giovinazzi a happy birthday:
“Best wishes and enjoy your day, after training at FIFA 🥳,” he wrote alongside a clip of
their FIFA match. The video revealed Sinner, playing as Atletico Madrid, edged
out his friend’s Manchester United team with a 1-0 victory.
Kasatkina
and Andreeva bond in Barcelona
Daria
Kasatkina (World No. 9) and
Mirra Andreeva (World No. 16) reunited in Barcelona
for a joint training session as they begin preparations for the 2025 season.
The Russian players have shown they are good friends both on and off the WTA
Tour, often appearing together on Dasha’s YouTube channel
“What the Vlog”,
where they share fun conversations and interviews during various tournaments.
Both
players are coming off impressive seasons: Kasatkina returned to the top 10
after two years, winning two WTA 500 titles and reaching four more finals in
the same category. Meanwhile, the teenage sensation Andreeva achieved her
career-high ranking of World No. 16, secured a title in Iasi, reached the final
in Ningbo, and made it to the semifinals at the French Open, her best Grand
Slam performance so far.
Now, the
compatriots have come together in Spain for a training session under the
watchful eye of Conchita Martínez, the former Wimbledon champion and Andreeva’s
current coach.
Alcaraz launches “Los Pies en la Tierra” exhibition
Carlos
Alcaraz’s foundation inaugurated the exhibition “Los Pies en la Tierra”
with the attendance of the 4-time Grand Slam champion, along with Beatriz
Garfia (director of the foundation) and Jose Ballesta (Mayor of Murcia,
Alcaraz’s hometown). The Spaniard is already enjoying his off-season after a
series of exhibitions in the USA against Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe.
The
exhibition aims to provoke reflection on Alcaraz’s life and his journey to
success at such a young age. It seeks to promote the development of children
facing adversity and to encourage overcoming obstacles. “I was just another
kid, raised in El Palmar, in an average family, running around the park with my
friends, going to the neighbourhood school, with no luxuries,” Alcaraz said.
“I had a
passion for sports, particularly tennis, but my childhood was very normal.
Today, we are here, feeling fortunate and grateful, wanting to contribute by
taking action for children,” he added.
“Yesterday
was a very special afternoon inaugurating @lospiesenlatierra_expo, the
exhibition by @fundacionalcaraz ❤️ I encourage everyone to visit it at Cárcel Vieja de Murcia from today
until February 15! 🙏🏻,” Alcaraz posted on his social
media.
Osaka stuns
in red at Jamie Foxx’s star-studded birthday bash
The 4-time
Grand Slam champion Naomi Osaka shared a series of photos after attending Jamie
Foxx’s birthday party with her boyfriend, Cordae. Foxx, a renowned American
actor, comedian, and singer, celebrated his 57th birthday with a star-studded
event at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. The former World No. 1 attended alongside
her boyfriend, rapper Cordae, with whom she shares a one-year-old daughter,
Shai.
A video
circulating on social media captured Osaka and Cordae stepping into a
limousine. Before starting their journey, they stopped the vehicle to give $10
to a homeless person, as reported by “Backgidus.” Osaka earned praise online
for her stunning outfit, a red dress with floral details adorning the skirt.
Raducanu captures London’s beauty
Emma
Raducanu shared a series of landscape photos from London. The former US Open
champion showcased her photography skills while enjoying the off-season in her
hometown. The former World No. 10 had an eventful season, dropping out of the
top 300 at one point but managing to finish the year ranked World No. 57
despite competing in just 13 tournaments throughout the season.
Raducanu
ended the 2024 season on a high note. Her last appearance was at the Billie
Jean King Cup, where she played a pivotal role in Great Britain’s run to the
semifinals, winning all three of her singles matches. The 21-year-old is
looking to leave injuries behind for good this year and has hired Yutaka
Nakamura, a renowned fitness trainer who previously worked with Maria Sharapova
and Naomi Osaka.
Medvedev’s
carousel moment: Family time in the off-season
Daniil
Medvedev is enjoying his holidays in Monaco and was spotted riding a carousel
with his daughter Alisa. The Russian tennis star is spending the off-season
with his family after finishing the year ranked World No. 5, despite failing to
secure a title for the first time since 2017. The former World No. 1 admitted
during the ATP Finals how much he was looking forward to ending the season, as
he felt uncomfortable with his tennis throughout the year.
The 2021 US
Open champion didn’t leave 2024 with positive feelings, finishing behind
players like Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz, and Alexander Zverev in the
rankings. In fact, he lost both of his finals to Sinner and Alcaraz. Still,
time with his family could serve as the perfect boost to start 2025 afresh.
Medvedev is making the most of it in Monaco, where he resides, alongside his
daughter.
