Katie Boulter calls out Alex de Minaur for 'elite red flag behaviour' after going off grid during Madrid Open blackout

Alex de Minaur said that he was enjoying his time off grid at the Madrid Open and that he was on his third walk of the day but he got a hilarious reply from his Fiancé Katie Boulter about not replying to her calling him a 'red flag'.

“Don’t mind this off the grid thing,” he wrote with three laughing emojis. “On the third walk of the day and finally got some service to check on the rest of the world.”

De Minaur continues his campaign at the Madrid Open later today against Denis Shapovalov after not playing since Saturday when he took on Lorenzo Sonego. He was due to play yesterday but it was one of the games that got called off early due to the conditions.

The power cut in Spain, Portugal and France and was only reinstated at the Caja Magica this morning. Donna Vekic was one of the first to post that it was back up last night but seemingly only at the players hotels over the stadium as the start time was nearly delayed today because of it.

But while De Minaur was happy with some time off grid, Boulter wasn't as she hilariously replied. “Imagine blaming a country blackout for not texting me back all day,” she replied declaring “Elite 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 behavior”

A red flag is a term known to describe something being off in a relationship and it seems that others dealt with the blackout better than others as a result.
