Brit Harriet Dart receives horrific online abuse after Rome Open Qualifying defeat

Harriet Dart lost in the Rome Open qualifiers and she shared the amount of hate messages she received on social media, with most of them coming from the same user.

Tennis players have been suffering abuse on social media since there is social media essential and it's been a problem that many have talked about it. It's not so different than any other athlete with most of those messages coming after a loss which is related to gambling most of the time. Dart lost in the Rome Open qualifiers and she shared a screenshot of the messages she's gotten since then:

"Some lovely messages & they keep going. Thank you, my first practice on clay was my warm up before my match and I arrived at 1am into Rome. Would have been easy to pull out but I did try."
