With the 2025 Australian Open only a few weeks away, WTA stars will travel down under to prepare for the first Grand Slam event of the season. The Hobart International, which is scheduled to run from January 6-11, 2025, is used a warm-up event for the Melbourne major.
A WTA 250 event, the Hobart International boasts an impressive list of winners. Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina, 2020 Australian champion Sofia Kenin and rising American star Emma Navarro have all lifted the prestigious trophy.
Belgian tennis star Elise Mertens will be the top seed at the event. The former World No.12 will be aiming for a hat-trick of titles in Hobart, after winning back-to-back titles in 2017 and 2018. Polish star Magda Linette is also scheduled to compete at the event.
American Sloane Stephens is slated to participate in Hobart. The former Grand Slam champion had a rollercoaster 2024 season, and will look to kick off 2025 on a high note. Compatriot Amanda Anisimova is also scheduled to compete in Hobart, alongside Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska and rising New Zealand star Lulu Sun. Below is the list of entrants.
