The Women's Singles Entry List has been confirmed for the 2025 Australian Open taking place between January 12-26 led by two-time champion Aryna Sabalenka.
Sabalenka will have to defend her title as well as the 2000 points she won at the Australian Open in Melbourne and will have her work cut out with Iga Swiatek having a point to prove after her recent positive doping test sending some doubt around the tennis world.
Coco Gauff also ended the season with the WTA Finals under her belt so is perhaps one of the most confident alongside Zheng Qinwen. Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro who recently jousted at The Garden Cup at Madison Square Garden also form part of the Australian Open line-up. As does the returning Elena Rybakina now coached by Goran Ivanisevic from the Australian Open onwards.
In addition to those names, Jasmine Paolini, Daria Kasatkina, Barbora Krejcikova, Danielle Collins, Paula Badosa and Diana Shnaider all lead the way. There are also as ever a slew of players making their way back or attempting to who will be unseeded.
These include Ons Jabeur, Maria Sakkari, Marketa Vondrousova and taking protected rankings, Belinda Bencic after becoming a mother will play as will Caty McNally, Julie Grabher, Jodie Burrage among others. Caroline Wozniacki and Emma Raducanu will both not need qualifying either and will get into the main draw by right.
