Following the conclusion of the Australian Open, the stars of the WTA will travel to Asia for the Singapore Tennis Open, which is scheduled to run from January 27-February 2, 2025 in Singapore, Singapore.
A WTA 250 event, the Singapore Tennis Open is one of the more recent events on the WTA calendar. The tournament was introduced in 2017, with Ukrainian Elina Svitolina winning the inaugural edition. Russia's Diana Shnaider lifted the trophy last year, but will not be returning to defend her title this season.
The Singapore Open will not be lacking starpower, as World No.14 Anna Kalinskaya will be the top seed at the event. Joining the Russian is 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, who battled with injury during the second half of the 2024 season. The British star will hope to revitalize her career with a strong showing in Singapore.
Belgian star Elise Mertens is scheduled to compete at the event, alongside the Chinese duo of Xinyu Wang and Yafan Wang. Former Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin has been announced for the hard court tournament, and she will be joined by fellow Americans Taylor Townsend and Alycia Parks. Below is the list of entrants.
