"I just found solutions" - Sakkari after Gauff win

Maria Sakkari had a tough job in Abu Dhabi where she faced Coco Gauff but she rose to the challenge and won 7-5 6-2.

It was a good display from Sakkari who is now 2-0 against Gauff in their meetings. It was not an easy feat as she had to come back from a double break in the first set to win it. Speaking afterwards she said:

"I just found solutions and got the win, and I still have one more chance to play better. I just stayed patient; I knew that I had a bad start, but I couldn’t just keep on playing that way, so I had to change something.

Her next opponent will be Garbine Muguruza who is always a tough matchup. Speaking about that she said:

"We all know [Muguruza is] a great champion, she’s won a couple of majors. She has been a very good player all these years."

She further continued:

"We’ve never played each other, we’ve practiced just once. I haven’t experienced her in a match, but it’s going to be very tough because I think the court suits her well, fast surface. I’m really looking forward to playing her, to be honest."
