Iga Swiatek achieved a remarkable WTA 1000 record, showcasing her dominance in these tournaments. The world No. 2 defeated Dayana Yastremska 6-0, 6-2 on Sunday, delivering a bagel for the second consecutive match after dismantling Caroline Garcia in her opener.

Swiatek has now recorded 31 sets with a 6-0 scoreline in WTA 1000 tournaments, tying Caroline Wozniacki for second place in this category, which has been tracked since 2009. She is now only behind Victoria Azarenka, who leads with 33.

Just weeks ago, Swiatek handed out a bagel in the opening round of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships against former world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka (6-0, 6-2). The very next day, Yastremska also suffered a 6-0 loss (7-5, 6-0).

The four 6-0 sets Swiatek has secured in her last two tournaments have allowed her to match Wozniacki’s tally—yet the Polish star is only 23 years old.

Swiatek has played just 33 WTA 1000 tournaments, winning 10 titles and reaching two additional finals, with a stellar 104-23 (82%) record. Essentially, she has averaged nearly one bagel per tournament at this level.

By comparison, Wozniacki—whom she has now equaled—holds a 185-100 (65%) record with six titles and six finals in 110 WTA 1000 main-draw appearances. Meanwhile, Azarenka, the all-time leader, achieved her 33 bagels across 316 matches, with a 226-90 (71%) record, 10 titles, and 100 WTA 1000 main-draw appearances—the same number as Wozniacki.

In other words, Swiatek has reached the same numbers as these two legends in just a third of their appearances. Given her dominance at this level, it seems highly likely that she will surpass Azarenka’s record this season—perhaps even in this very tournament—and in the long run, she could shatter the Belarusian’s impressive milestone.
