Bianca Andreescu is happy to be able to play at the
Billie Jean King Cup because she enjoys team-based competition.
Bianca Andreescu has not played in the Billie Jean King Cup since 2019 and which was the year when she won the US Open. The Canadian player had solid weeks leading up to the final week of the season and she hopes to take that good form further at the competition.
Team competitions is something she enjoys greatly:
"I'm an only child, so I crave that connection with other people. Being in this kind of environment is definitely great"
She continued:
"I'm really looking forward to playing in the Billie Jean King Cup because I haven't played in over two years, so this is really exciting. I love being part of a team like this, representing your country, playing for your country. I've always had fun playing in these tournaments, so I'm really happy."
Finishing up:
"It's so different than what I'm used to. I like being part of a team environment where it's not just your team members per se, when you're playing regular tournaments, like your coach or your physio. But you're playing and you're around other tennis players that you get to team up with. It's so different than the sport and I love it."
