Madison Keys is the second player with the most winners in a single event in the last two seasons, only behind Aryna Sabalenka at the 2024 Madrid Open. The American, known for having one of the most powerful forehands in recent years, made aggression the key aspect of her game to take the 2025 Australian Open title
The world No. 7 secured her first major title by defeating Sabalenka in the final. Few players can match Sabalenka’s pace when it comes to winners, and the final was closely contested, with both players hitting 29 winners each.
At 29 years old, Keys recorded a total of 224 winners across her 7 matches – 5 of which were three-setters – just shy of the 231 hit by the current world No. 1, Sabalenka, at the 2024 Madrid Open, where she reached the final but lost to Iga Swiatek. Notably, Keys played one match less as the second seed, starting the draw in the second round.
In the list of players with the most winners in a single event, only four players have exceeded 200. The third place is held by Sabalenka with 205 on her way to the 2024 US Open title, just ahead of Elena Rybakina’s 204 during her Miami Open 2023 win.
In fifth place, the Czech teenager Linda Nosk shines, hitting 192 winners in just 5 matches, though she was eliminated in the semifinals by Rybakina.
Keys is on a remarkable 12-match winning streak, following her title at the Adelaide International just before the Australian Open. Her 12-0 record is her best career start, and she will return to the court in three weeks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
