"Nice to be back in Paris" - Halep ahead of Roland Garros opeer

Simona Halep is entering the 2020 Roland Garros in good form and in her opening press conference she spoke about her thoughts heading into the event.

Simona Halep is entering the 2020 Roland Garros in very good form and her aspirations for this event are not different from any other event. She started off her opening press conference saying it was Nice to be back in Paris. She said:

"Nice to be back in Paris. I love this tournament. I love this place. It's a little bit cold so hopefully, we get used to the weather."

Her sentiment is one that many players have expressed noting the huge difference between the Roland Garros held in spring and this one held in Autumn. Some players such as Rafael Nadal called it detrimental to their game so it might prove a thing to look out for during this event.

Speaking about herself Simona said:

"I feel good. I feel confident but you never know. Take it day by day.

She also echoed her determination to win this event saying that every tournament she plays she wants to win. French Open was her first grand slam and she said it will be special for her always.

When asked what she thinks of her being named the favourite she said:

"I'm honoured but I don't look in that direction. Every player works hard and wants to win."
