Jessica Pegula will play in the Madrid Open final after battling past a very uninspiring Jill Teichman in Madrid.
The American played a very balanced match hitting the ball rather well and committing fewer errors than she hit winners. That's always the question with Pegula as she can be very dangerous but only if she hits the ball cleanly. This time around she did and it worked against Teichmann who played her worst match at the event at the worst possible time.
From the start, Pegula had the initiative to attack early in rallies. The Swiss player never quite found her footing in the first set and even when she pulled the break back she lost her serve in the very next game to throw away the opening set. Pretty much the same thing happened in the 2nd set as once again Teichmann was able to battle back from the early break but lost her serve in the next game giving Pegula the match.
