Emma Raducanu's comeback to the top hasn't happened yet and with that in mind she'll take part in the inaugural ATX Open in Austin at the end of February.
The Brit showed a pretty decent level to start the year but was unfortunate with the draw in Melbourne. She faced Coco Gauff and that proved too big of a challenge right now. To get better draws moving forward Raducanu needs to improve her ranking and that's the thinking behind playing at the ATX Open in Texas in February.
Playing some smaller events will give Raducanu exactly what she needs in playing time and will serve as a great way to collect some points and build up her confidence. The Tournament director was thrilled to get Raducanu on board:
"We are thrilled that Emma, the youngest Grand Slam champion in the game today, will be coming to the ATX Open- We look forward to her joining Danielle [Collins], Sloane and Peyton
[Stearns] for our inaugural tournament, and are very excited to know
that we will be welcoming them to Austin in less than one month."
The event is set to be played late in February a few weeks ahead of the Sunshine double.
