Rybakina set for career high ranking after reaching Indian Wells final

Elena Rybakina to secure a new career-high following the Indian Wells Masters as she will improve her previous career-high ranking of number 10.

The big-serving Rybakina entered the event with her highest ranking ever at 10 but looks set to improve upon that mark. She'll move up to number 7 if she beats Sabalenka in the final but only to number 9 if she losses. Either situation would be a new career high for her though she would obviously prefer to win and move up to number 7.

The Kazakhstani player was supposed to be ranked even higher last year after winning Wimbledon but the event didn't give out any points. It will work in her favour this year as she won't have to defend those 2000 points so she can charge up the rankings. The way she's playing right now is exceptional and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop her.

She herself admitted that feels quite unbeatable:

“There are moments where you can feel, `OK, I can beat anyone if I always play like this."
