Donna Vekic is out of the Bad Homburg Open this week but it's not for the want of trying seemingly as the Croatian was scheduled to play only 20 hours after being in Berlin.
Vekic reached the final of the Bett1 Open Berlin losing out to Petra Kvitova and like Alexander Bublik for example was due to play in a tournament straight after reaching the final.
Kvitova too is set to play Eastbourne this week, but despite being in the same country, it seemed a bridge too far.
Pencilled in to face Emma Navarro today, she has since withdrawn with the amount of travel, preparation and sleep needed likely a factor.
Also doesn't see Bad Homburg in a great light due to their own scheduling despite Vekic getting to the latter half of the tournament already earlier this week in Berlin. She will now head to Wimbledon.
