Vondrousova thrashes Andreescu in Rome

Bianca Andreescu did not have a very good time at the Rome Open running into a very very strong Marketa Vondrousova who beat her 6-0 6-1.

Andreescu can play well on clay however this performance was not that. She faced a tricky opponent in Vondrousova who is a capable player on this surface. Some would say this is her best surface as she played a Roland Garros final as well and this looked very much like a player capable of winning a grand slam.

Only one game was dropped by Vondrousova in the 56-minute match. There is not much to say here because Andreescu was quite dreadful overall struggling to keep the ball in play. Vondrousova demonstrated her typical, deep, very precise groundstrokes from both sides that gave Andreescu too many problems.

Just a classic beatdown.
