In the latest update of the WTA Race to Riyadh, Aryna Sabalenka comfortably remains at the top, with her lead guaranteed at least until the Madrid Open. Madison Keys, Iga Swiatek, Mirra Andreeva, and Jessica Pegula complete a strong top five, far ahead of the rest of the Tour.
Unlike the WTA Rankings, the Race only considers points earned during the 2025 calendar year. The top eight players of the season will qualify for the prestigious WTA Finals.
Just a week after Sabalenka claimed the Race lead, thanks to her impressive Sunshine Double — winning the Miami Open and reaching the final at Indian Wells — she now stands at 3,580 points. Her season includes two titles, two additional finals, and a 23–4 win–loss record.
American Madison Keys, who won the Australian Open after defeating Sabalenka, follows in second place with 3,069 points. She will retain that position for at least a couple of weeks, as she will not compete at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart. Still, her significant lead over third place secures her current ranking for now.
Mirra Andreeva completes the top three, having already lifted two WTA 1000 trophies this year — in Dubai and Indian Wells — and putting together a 13-match winning streak before her early exit in Miami. The 17-year-old has been a standout in the first part of the season and will look to continue her strong form during the clay swing.
Iga Swiatek (2,315 points) and Jessica Pegula (2,310) round out the top five. The American just won her first career clay title at the Charleston Open, bringing her nearly level with the Polish star. Still, Swiatek is widely regarded as the queen of clay and will be aiming to raise her level in the coming weeks to stay in contention in the Race.
A top-5 clearly ahead of the rest, Amanda Anisimova leads the second tier of the WTA Race with 1,460 points—850 behind Pegula. She won the title at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and a reached semifinals in Charleston last week, but has once again suffered a back injury, so her fitness over the next few weeks will be something to watch closely.
She is followed by Clara Tauson, who started the season in great form. The 22-year-old clinched the ASB Classic title and was runner-up at the WTA 1000 in Dubai. With a 17–6 record so far this season, she has more than enough tennis credentials to stay near the top.
A few high-profile names on Tour remain a bit further back in the Race: Emma Navarro (8th), Elena Rybakina (9th), Paula Badosa (10th), Coco Gauff (11th), Ekaterina Alexandrova (12th), and Belinda Bencic (13th) are all close behind. The gap from Navarro to Bencic is less than 250 points, meaning that one deep run at an upcoming tournament could be enough for any of them to climb into the upper ranks of the Race.
