The WTA Rankings are freshly reset after Indian Wells with Mirra Andreeva as expected emerging as the big winner. She is up to a career high after scooping the title and with future tournaments to come set to gain, she is sure to go even higher.

Andreeva defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2025 Indian Wells Open on Sunday night in a rampant display from the 18-year-old. She is now World No.6 going up five spots given that she had only just broken the top 10 before.

The knock on effect too is that Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina in seventh and eighth now fall. Emma Navarro has also dropped to 10th as Paula Badosa is now out of the top 10.

Speaking of Sabalenka, she gained as Swiatek and Gauff lost points. She sits further imperious atop the rankings as World No.1 after reaching the final at Indian Wells and given Swiatek also has Miami points to defend while Sabalenka lost early, it is a gaining period.

But Sabalenka will also have to deal with going back to Miami after the trauma of the sudden passing of her ex-boyfriend Konstantin Koltsov last year. She decided to play on but that week may bring back bad memories for the World No.1.

Further down, Karolina Muchova is further inside the top 15. The Czech ace did not play this time last year so likely will be one of the main players to benefit from those around her not defending points. She is now World No.14. Donna Vekic (up three to 19th), Liudmila Samsonova (up four to 21st) were also among the main beneficiaries in California.

Ons Jabeur, Victoria Azarenka, Katie Boulter, Elina Avanesyan and Xinyu Wang all inside the top 40 also went up between two and three places. Belinda Bencic as expected after another incredible run is up 13 spots as she moves up inside the top 50 only two months on from her main tour return.

Maria Sakkari was the main loser in the latest WTA Rankings.

Maria Sakkari is the big loser though in the WTA Rankings as she plummets 22 spots down toi World No.51 after not being able to defend her final run. She reached the semi-finals last year in Miami too so is set to move further down.

To round off, Sonay Kartal went even higher than Bencic in one week as she shifted up 20 spots to World No.63. Maya Joint also continues her ascent up the top 100 going up five spots to World No.80.
