WTA Rankings Update: Aryna Sabalenka draws level with Naomi Osaka all time as Belinda Bencic moves up 92 spots in one week

The WTA Rankings have been updated and aside from Belinda Bencic moving up 92 spots in a week, it is dominated by Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys who didn't even play.

Sabalenka like many of the top names on the WTA Tour didn't play this past week but joins Naomi Osaka as joint 17th overall as World No.1 all-time and will next move up to Dinara Safina. She is only 186 points ahead of Swiatek but doesn't have any points to defend in Doha unlike her rival.

Madison Keys is now World No.6 as Elena Rybakina failed to defend her points from the Abu Dhabi Open. While Belinda Bencic was the big winner of the week. She has surged up 92 spots after winning that title.

She dropped to outside the top 1000 last year after missing the WTA season due to maternity leave. Unlike others who perhaps would be given opportunities to return to the tour with wildcards, she wasn't afforded such a luxury and grinded on WTA 125k tournaments to get match practice in and get her ranking up.

She reached the Last 16 in Adelaide and fourth round at the Australian Open before going all the way to the title in Abu Dhabi. Ashlyn Krueger in finishing runner-up is up 11 spots to World No.40, while Linda Noskova climbed six spots to World No.33. Anastasia Potapova was the other big winner as she moved up albeit only one spot to World No.31 but softened the blow of losing Linz.
