With several coaching changes being made ahead of the 2025 season, Alexander Zverev has stated he is willing to collaborate with retired German star Boris Becker under certain conditions.

Zverev produced some of the best tennis of his career during the 2024 season, winning 69 matches and ending the year ranked World No.2. The German is currently being coached by his father, Alexander Zverev Sr.

Working with Becker would be beneficial, acknowledges Zverev

Becker teamed with former World No.1 Novak Djokovic from 2013 till 2016, guiding the Serbian to six Grand Slam titles. Working with Becker could be the missing key to Zverev achieving Grand Slam glory, but the former Olympic gold medalist alluded to one condition that could hinder their partnership.

"I love Boris and I also believe that he has an incredible knowledge of tennis,” Zverev told Tennis Magazin. “But I don’t know how he feels about travelling. That’s the only question mark for him.
"As soon as he has solved and clarified that, we can talk about it. We are always in contact with him and often talk to each other. Now for Australia, it will stay as it is and then I will see.”

Becker began his coaching career as Djokovic's mentor, before working with Danish star Holger Rune from October 2023 to February 2024. The former World No.1 has stayed away from the coaches box ever since, but could find himself in Zverev's corner should both men come to an arrangement.
