The three-time Major champion Andy Murray will make the Delray Beach Open debut on January 8. The Briton took a wild card and will fight for his first title since Antwerp 2109.
Feeling confident about his game following two wins over Daniel Evans and Cameron Norrie in the Battle of the Brits in Roehampton, Andy will battle against Milos Raonic, John Isner, Kei Nishikori and Reilly Opelka in Delray Beach. The Briton is hoping for a strong performance in his first appearance at the ATP 250 event, playing only seven matches in 2020 and seeking much more in the season ahead of us.
Struggling with a pelvic injury since the Davis Cup Finals in November 2019, Andy kicked off the previous season in August, scoring two notable wins in Cincinnati and losing ground after that, finishing the year with three victories and four defeats and remaining outside the top-100.
"I am looking forward to starting the 2021 season in Delray Beach. This event will be a good test for me, and I'm excited to be back playing on the tour," Andy Murray said.
"We are looking forward to Andy joining us for our season-opening tournament. He is a champion at every level, and among the greatest fighters our sport has ever seen. It will be thrilling to see him play here," said Tournament Director Mark Baron.
