Former world number one
Andy Murray featured in a video on
social media platform playing golf. The 37-year-old is often regarded as the
greatest British player in the history of men’s tennis in the Open era, having
won three Grand Slam titles.
Murray, who retired from the sport recently, has featured in
a video shared on social media platform playing golf. The video was shared on
the DP World Tour page on X — previously, known as Twitter with a caption: “.@andy_murray
taking on the first tee at Wentworth.”
Murray retired from professional tennis after the Paris
Olympics, where he participated in the doubles category with Dan Evans. He and
his partner were knocked out after losing in the quarterfinal. The Glasgow-born
star struggled with fitness concerns throughout his career. It was because of
this that he was forced to retire from professional tennis just after the
Australian Open in 2018.
However, Murray miraculously returned to the court soon
after and continued playing at the highest level for another six years. The
former world number, earlier this year, announced that he would retire one last
time after participating at Wimbledon on home soil and later in the Paris
Olympics. His plan, however, was affected after he suffered a serious back
injury during the Queen’s ATP championship. That injury forced him to withdraw
from the singles category event at Wimbledon. He ended up taking part in the
doubles category with his brother, but the two were knocked out after losing in
the first round.
