The Battle of the Brits has been a good event for tennis fans especially those who fly the Union Jack flag but now it's the final day.

A full week of tennis straight from the British Isles is coming to a conclusion with a final and what would have been a 3rd place match. Unfortunately for all tennis fans, Andy Murray had to pull out of the event due to some "shin problems". You can read the full report here.
With that being said we still have one match that is going to go ahead and it's the final between Dan Evans and Kyle Edmund. Dan Evans lived up to hos status of the British number one and dominated throughout this week eventually booking a final spot after defeating Andy Murray. About the match Evans said:
"I'm immensely proud to have been on the court with Andy. In this environment, in the semi-final, you don't get to do that every day so it's great to come through winning. Just really happy with the way I played, with the way I moved and I was pretty resilient after the first set."
His opponent didn't have an easy time as well as he himself had to go the full distance. It was a match full of twists and turns but Edmund ultimately prevailed with a narrow 3rd set victory. After the match he said:
"It was a tough match. It felt I was coming from behind - I felt he was a bit happier with how the match was going than myself. I had to find a way of changing that. I guess that's all is needed in that format. You only need to get a set to force a third [set] tie-break - and in a tie-break, you've always got a chance.”
With their victories, both tennis players proved to be the best of the British bunch and we should have a great final. It is set to start after the "ceremonial" 3rd place match between Norrie and Ward finishes. That match is due to start a 14:00 CEST. Be sure to check back with us as we will have a report from the final.
