Matteo Berrettini reached the Wimbledon final and the Italian was celebrated upon his return to Italy alongside the National Team.
It was a wonderful fortnight for Matteo Berrettini in London as he reached his first Grand Slam final in his career. A run to the finals at Wimbledon was unexpected by Berrettini but he earned it with stellar play. He failed to win Wimbledon despite winning the opening set against Djokovic but he was still warmly welcomed in Italy.
Berrettini spent Sunday after his Wimbledon loss at Wembley cheering for the Italian National Team that was playing in the UEFA Euro Final against England. Italy went on to win on penalties and Berrettini was seen celebrating it on the stands. Today he was celebrated in Rome together with the Italian National Team.
The trophy won by Berrettini was on display at the reception together with the trophy won by the Italian National Team. Djokovic spoiled the party of a double winning trophy but Matteo was in good spirits at the reception after a memorable run at Wimbledon.
