Gael Monfils congratulating his wife
Elina Svitolina and living up to his promise,
Holger Rune taking in a tradition as well as
Aryna Sabalenka begging to finally win the Porsche that has long eluded her. it is all on our Daily Dose of Social Media.
Gael Monfils shares delight as Elina Svitolina wins 18th title
Elina Svitolina said that one of the main incentives she had this week to do well was the fact that husband Gael Monfils would come and support her in person in his home country of France.
Svitolina did reach the final so he came and supported her as she saw off Olga Danilovic 6-4, 7-6(2) for what was an 18th career title. Beaming with pride, Monfils took to his social media to congratulate her on winning the title.
Yet another one closer to a 20th for the Ukrainian who continues to produce. Both now head to Madrid.
“So happy and proud of my wife for her win in Rouen. Congrats my love.”
Holger Rune takes in Champions Dive
Holger Rune sealed the Barcelona Open title on Sunday and one of the main parts of winning the Conde de Godo Trophy is the celebration.
Rune after he left the court did as Ruud did last year and also Alcaraz before him and jumped in the pool. He was clapped down by the ball kids who all joined him in what is a superb moment every year.
Carlos Alcaraz will be bitterly disappointed that he couldn't bring glory to his home country after having to miss last year with injury, he lost the final injured today and now has an MRI pencilled in for Monday. He could yet be a doubt for Madrid.
Birthday boy Alexander Zverev wins title and special present from a familiar face
Alexander Zverev won the title at the 2025 BMW Munich Open and as the name of the tournament suggests, it has ties with the German car manufacturer.
While it doesn't have the flashing lights and glitz and glamour of the Stuttgart indoor tournament which gives a Porsche, it did give perhaps an even better gift.
Zverev received a brand new BMW IX M70 by former US Open champion, Dominic Thiem who is a known friend of Zverev. All of this too on his birthday. A perfect way to turn 28.
Aryna Sabalenka begs to finally get opportunity to own Porsche
Aryna Sabalenka has begged to get the opportunity to finally get the Porsche tomorrow at the Stuttgart Open final. The Belarusian has reached four finals at the indoor event and has not won one.
With said title comes a free Porsche and often it is Iga Swiatek who walks away with them apart from Elena Rybakina last year who ironically learned to drive afterwards.
But Sabalenka has long lamented the fact that she hasn't yet won one and will get her best chance tomorrow when she faces Jelena Ostapenko in what will be a highly anticipated final.
"It doesn’t matter what happened in the past, I’m going to go out there tomorrow and fight like it’s the first match. And I’m going to fight for this beautiful car behind me. I beg you, please, please, I need this car!”
She also added credence to that: “Looks like a tiger car, let’s be honest!”
Team Sinner joins Team Draper
At the end of a week of practice in Monte-Carlo, Jack Draper has seen the first glimpse of one of his rivals back on court for the first time before his ban expires as Jannik Sinner continues to get reps in.
Also vitaly important on a week like this one where most of the top names aren't playing. Getting practice partners during Madrid might be difficult but the likelihood is that once his ban expires he will head early to Rome to practice.
But a group photo was taken between the two teams and Draper will hope to be fit and firing for Madrid after a poor Monte-Carlo. Two rivals together and ready for the next part of the season.
