Elina Svitolina, born September 12, 1994 in Odessa, Ukraine, is a successful professional tennis player known for her solid baseline game and exceptional speed. Svitolina reached her highest WTA ranking position of No. 3 in 2017, after winning multiple WTA Premier 5 titles. She has more than 15 WTA singles titles to her name, including titles in Rome, Toronto and Dubai. Svitolina's biggest achievements in Grand Slams include reaching the semifinals at Wimbledon and the 2019 US Open. She is also known for her resilience and consistency on the tour. In 2021, she briefly stepped away from the sport for her marriage to former tennis player Gaël Monfils and later gave birth to their first child, but returned strongly on the WTA tour.
