The 2025 Rouen Open will take place in the beautiful city of Rouen, France and is slated to run from April 14-20, 2025 as the WTA begins clay-court season in earnest.
A WTA 250 event, the Rouen Open was introduced in 2022 and upgraded to a WTA 250 event in 2024. The inaugural edition on the WTA main draw will see several players, most of whom are clay-court specialists, compete for its unique title. Also it sees many of the Billie Jean King Cup stars remain in Europe ahead of Madrid and Rome.
The Rouen Open will feature star power from various parts of the world led by Elina Svitolina as number one seed. Maria Sakkari and Caroline Garcia aim to rebuild their careers and could start with a title.
Sakkari has recently slipped down to World No.82 so is unseeded in this tournament and has recently batted back criticism about a return to that point in her career. As well as those names, Bianca Andreescu makes her return.
The former US Open champion has not played since late 2024 due to a back injury and has been training for clay in recent months. Linda Noskova also is involved as second seed. The event will offer a rich prize money pool of €239,212 in its second airing of the event, with the winner earning €31,565 and 250 WTA ranking points. The runner-up claims €18,685 and 163 points for losing the final. Below is the full breakdown.
