French fainter Arthur Cazaux shares positive update after scary Miami Open incident: "More fear than harm"

Arthur Cazaux gave a positive update on his health status following his collapse during the Miami Open qualifying. The young Frenchman fainted while facing his compatriot Harold Mayot on March 18, with Cazaux leading 2-1 in the third set.

Footage shows the moment Cazaux collapsed, likely due to the intense heat and humidity, and he promptly received medical attention on the court. He was then urgently taken to the hospital and spent the night there, but after undergoing necessary tests, he was discharged to rest.

At 21 years old, Cazaux is currently at the highest ranking of his career as world No. 74, and his collapse alarmed the tennis world with its shocking images. The Frenchman has now shared an update on his health with positive feelings:

“Hello everyone, a little note to tell you that I’m feeling better. I just left the Miami hospital after spending the night in the hospital, to receive care and a long series of tests. today my physical condition is better, and my blood pressure and my heart have remained stable.

“It was ultimately more fear than harm. Now my body must be rested and I hope to be back on the courts very quickly. Thank you all for your messages of support, and see you soon,” Arthur Cazaux wrote on his Instagram in French.

Concerns arise regarding the conditions in which the tennis players compete. The veteran French player Alize Cornet, a former world No. 11, commented on the situation of her compatriot and expressed her opinion that allowing matches to take place under such adverse weather conditions puts the players at risk: “The heat and humidity are just insane here in Miami. When are we going to stop putting players health in danger?” Alize Cornet wrote on her X.
