Jannik Sinner's title charge continues at the 2025 Australian Open as the World No.1 has booked a meeting with Ben Shelton for a spot in the final at Melbourne Park as he remains the stand-out player in this tournament.

Sinner improves his record to 10-0 against De Minaur in what is becoming a real one-sided match-up akin to Djokovic v Fritz and Monfils of the current open era albeit not 20-0 like the latter. But it was still a win where De Minaur barely laid a glove on the Italian who ran out of a 6-3, 6-2, 6-1 winner.

For Sinner it is now 19 consecutive wins, nine against top 10 players but he faces Ben Shelton on Friday who is one of the only players to beat him in what has been a remarkable 15 months.

He also rebounded well from his match against Holger Rune which saw him shaking and seemingly unwell. But it was by far his simplest win thus far this tournament as the home hope wasn't carried by the crowd to any semblance of a retort against the Italian.

He also leads 22-1 in sets against De Minaur which is perhaps even more stark than the 10-0 Head to Head record. It was a pretty simple start from Sinner who was barely troubled on his serve and led 3-1 with a break in no time at all. De Minaur barely won a point on Sinner's service games and the latter served it out 6-3.

The next two were even more emphatic as he broke twice in a set where De Minaur started with the serve and eased to a 6-2 set. The third saw him lose one point on serve all set in a true showcase of the gulf as Sinner claimed it 6-1 breaking serve to finish it and it was done in just under two hours.

Only really Tristan Schoolkate has handed Sinner anything to think about thus far but does Shelton in the next round. Time will certainly tell.
