Dustin Brown shared a photo after welcoming his first daughter, Naomi Brown. The iconic former German tennis player announced his retirement last year, and at 40 years old, he becomes a father for the first time, as he revealed on social media.

Brown had a long career spanning over two decades, starting in 2002 and reaching his career-high ranking as World No. 64. He struggled with constant injuries in the latter part of his career, especially with back problems, which led him to announce his retirement in 2024.

“It’s not a nice feeling, so that was a lot of pain. No sleeping, I was having issues walking,” he explained to the ATP Tour website in 2024. “I was literally struggling to walk. I was going outside walking with my dog and my dog was looking at me like, ‘Oh, can I please go?’ My wife normally walks the dog too, so the dog was probably looking at me thinking, ‘Please can I go with mom?’”

The unique Jamaican-born player had his best performances on grass courts during his career. In fact, he defeated Rafael Nadal twice on this surface — first in Halle 2014 (6-4, 6-1) and then in the biggest match of his career in the second round of Wimbledon 2015, pulling off one of the greatest upsets against the Spaniard.

Brown handed Nadal a fourth consecutive upset at Wimbledon, with the Spaniard losing to players outside the top 100 for four straight years. Brown is remembered as one of the game’s most entertaining showmen, with a distinctive playing style that dismantled Nadal twice.

Now 40 years old and retired from professional tennis, Brown begins a new chapter in his life, welcoming his first daughter. “Introducing: Naomi Brown / 06.03.25,” he posted on Instagram.
