Alexander Zverev and
Jannik Sinner are enjoying a successful
Roland Garros so far but for one it will end soon and ahead of the match they spoke about it.
Alexander Zverev isn't enjoying a very smooth Roland Garros so far but his last match was impressive and he was very about it post-match. He said:
"I am definitely much happier with my game [than against Herbert]. I worked on a few things yesterday. I was very unsatisfied with myself two days ago, but I still won. So that was more important. I know that with every round I have to play better and better, otherwise I will not have a chance.”
In order to go through, he will need to defeat the reigning Next Gen Champion Jannik Sinner who is having a very successful run at the Roland Garros. He defeated Coria 6-4 7-5 7-5 and after the match he said:
“Today was very difficult... I wanted to win in three sets, but it's never easy against him, he is a very good player, especially on clay. He stays there point-after-point, you have to win every point. So about my performance today, I'm quite happy.”
The young Italian is yet to drop a set in Paris but his biggest challenge is coming up with a match against Zverev. His impressive run saw him already defeated a top 10 player as he smashed David Goffin in round one.
Zverev spoke abuout the match saying:
“[Sinner] is playing incredible. I don’t think he lost a set yet, so he is somebody that is definitely coming up and playing really well right now. [He is] somebody who has a lot of power. We will see how the match goes, but I feel like I am playing better and maybe I have a little more experience. But the young guys, they have no fear, no reason to be nervous, so it can go both ways.”
