Alexander Zverev has called
Carlos Alcaraz on a different level compared to his after the Spaniard smashed him comfortable at the
Madrid Open.
Zverev now what it's like to play Alcaraz in Madrid as the Spaniard lost to him in the final last year. This year wasn't a final and it wasn't a competitive match at all though one could argue that last year's wasn't either. Zverev was fully aware of it after the match proclaiming Alcaraz on a higher level than him in an Instagram story:
"It's gonna be a process with ups and downs. @carlitosalcarazz is one of the best players in the world and is on a different level to me at the moment. Well done @carlitosalcarazz and hope to see you soon during a more competitive match again."
The German is struggling to find his best tennis even after moving to clay which is unfortunate because he played at such a high-level last year on the surface. There is still time but it's unlikely he will arrive in Roland Garros at the same level he had last year when he defeated Alcaraz at the event.
