Iga Swiatek overcomes Emma Navarro 6-1, 6-2 to return to the Australian Open semifinals after three years. The Pole delivered another dominant performance, continuing her streak of conceding only 14 games throughout the tournament (and just 7 in her last 4 matches), an impressive record in which she has yet to lose her serve.
The world No. 2 becomes the final semifinalist and will face Madison Keys, who defeated Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals. On the other side, Aryna Sabalenka and Paula Badosa will battle it out for the second spot in the final.
As expected, Swiatek started at full throttle, breaking Navarro to love in the opening game and racing to a 2-0 lead in under five minutes. Her performance was impressive, reflecting the level she has shown throughout the tournament. Navarro managed to hold her serve once but struggled to keep up with Swiatek’s dominance from both forehand and backhand.
Navarro appeared poised to narrow the gap when she led 40-0 on her serve in the sixth game (4-1), but Swiatek won four consecutive points, demonstrating her unrelenting energy. The Pole eventually broke serve and closed out the set 6-1, winning 63% of the total points played.
Swiatek opened the set on serve with a hard-fought game, where Navarro pushed to deuce, marking her closest chance to pressure the Pole's serve. The 5-time Grand Slam champion continued to outshine Navarro in both shot quality and movement, refusing to give up on any ball. Still, Navarro, one of the best movers on the Tour, did her best to keep pace from the baseline.
Midway through the set, Swiatek began accumulating unforced errors, reaching eight by 2-2, compared to just six in the first set. Navarro took advantage and created her best moments of the match, nearly breaking Swiatek’s serve. However, a controversial point—a ball that seemingly bounced twice on Swiatek’s side—ended up giving the game to the No. 2 seed.

Navarro missed her best chance to break Swiatek’s serve for the first time in the tournament. Despite showing resistance, she could not overcome Swiatek's exceptional level, as the Pole sealed the victory 6-1, 6-2.
So far, Swiatek has reached the semifinals of a major six times, winning the title on five of those occasions—the only exception being the 2022 Australian Open, where she lost to Danielle Collins. This time, she will face another American: world No. 14 Madison Keys, who is on a 10-match winning streak and eliminated Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals.
