The Ningbo Open 2024 is the seventh edition of the event, but only the second since since 2014 and the first as a WTA 500 tournament.
Ningbo is a major port and industrial city in the Zhejiang province of eastern China. It has a population of about 9.5 million and is known for its rich history and culture.
Its tournament will feature some of the top players in the world, such as Ons Jabeur, Petra Kvitová, Sorana Cîrstea, and Anna Blinkova. The prize money for the event is $259,303 and the surface is hard. The singles draw consists of 32 players and the doubles draw consists of 16 pairs.
The Ningbo Open is part of the China Series, which includes four other WTA tournaments in Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Wuhan, and Beijing. The China Series aims to promote the development of women’s tennis in China and showcase the country’s culture and tourism.
The Ningbo Open will be held at the Yinzhou Tennis Center, which has a capacity of 5,000 spectators. The tournament will also offer live streaming and scores on its official website and on ESPN.com.
