Andre Agassi despite staying relevant in the pickleball exhibition circuit and at the Australian Open hasn't been seen in particular in punditry or commentary duty much since his retirement from the sport. But TNT Sports have coaxed the former World No.1 into joining them at Roland Garros.

TNT Sports replace Eurosport and signed a $650 million deal with the FFT last year to air Roland Garros in the US over the next ten years meaning that anyone in the US doesn't have to use around five channels to watch the major.

The company who have previously worked in the UK also taking over Eurosport recently have landed a coup in Agassi albeit he will only be in the studio for the semi-finals and final.

Agassi has shown adeptness for working before on the coverage of tournaments but has not decided to travel out of the US or past Australia in recent years to do it and so this is a surprise move. He could also be reunited with John McEnroe.

Agassi who retired in 2006 has supposedly snubbed many high profile gigs. He won Roland Garros in 1999 to complete a career Grand Slam and reports suggest that McEnroe is also signed up as ever to be one of the lead analysts and commentators. So they will return together to renew their rivalry.

“Watching TNT through the years, I’ve admired how they create an environment that encourages everyone to express their voice in an authentic, unfiltered way,” Agassi said.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of partnering with TNT Sports, via this very special Roland-Garros event, as we reimagine how tennis broadcasts can be.”

Craig Barry, Executive Vice President and Chief Content Officer, TNT Sports said: “Andre is one of the most accomplished tennis players of all time and we’re excited to add his distinct voice to our inaugural Roland-Garros coverage.

“His very unique lens will elevate our presentation and appeal to both passionate fans and casual audiences.”
