Emergency contacts on Tour: Sinner, Alcaraz, and more reveal their picks
The stars
of the ATP and WTA participated in a fun and engaging video where they were
asked an interesting question: who would be their “emergency contact” within
the Tour? The responses varied and provided a glimpse into the camaraderie and
friendships among the players.
World No. 1
Jannik Sinner responded, “We’re good friends with Jack, so I will go with Jack
Draper.” His choice highlighted the strong bond he shares with Draper. On the
other hand, 4-time Grand Slam champion
Carlos Alcaraz mentioned, “I’d probably
call Novak (Djokovic), he has a lot of contacts,” showing his trust in
Djokovic’s wide network and reliability.
Ben Shelton
added a humorous touch with his response: “I definitely wouldn’t have Emma
Navarro as my emergency contact, she never responds. Probably I would say Sebi
Korda,” pointing out Navarro’s unavailability and his preference for Korda.

Ons Jabeur criticizes
gender stereotyping after Muchova's US Open success
Karolina
Muchova was one of the standout performers on Thursday night at the US Open.
The Czech player defeated the 2-time champion Naomi Osaka in straight sets and
delivered an incredible performance that raises hopes for a deep run, possibly
even making her a title contender.
The former
French Open runner-up was praised by fans and experts alike, although Ons
Jabeur did not appreciate the comment that Muchova "plays like a
man."
“She plays
like a guy. She wants to play like a guy. The guys have bigger serves than the
women, they have better volleys for the most part, they move a little bit
better.” – Chrissie on Muchova. A user posted this on X, which received a
response from Jabeur, who reshared the post on her account.
“Muchova is
an amazingly talented player. She doesn’t have to be a guy to have a great
serve, volley, or movement. Can we please stop stereotyping based on gender?”
commented the 3-time Grand Slam runner-up.
Muchova’s impressive
win: Kyrgios and Federer’s influence
After
Karolina Muchova’s sensational win against Naomi Osaka, none other than Nick
Kyrgios, who is participating as one of the commentators for ESPN's broadcasts,
conducted the on-court interview. “You hit some incredible volleys tonight. It
was insane. Then I found out your childhood hero is Roger Federer. Did you take
things from his game?” asked the former Wimbledon runner-up.
“Yeah, for
sure. I watched him. I watched you... all the guys doing these things and I
really like it. So I try to incorporate it into my game. I just enjoy playing
like this. It’s fun and that’s why I play. I’m glad I could pull off some nice
shots today,” Muchova responded.
Later,
Kyrgios shared the moment on social media and joked: “I think Federer is a
better role model than me!! But thanks @karomuchova7 😴🤩” The Australian also praised
Muchova’s performance against Osaka: “Extremely high level tonight… wow. Naomi
had chances and plenty of positives, but wow Muchova has some talent. Very
enjoyable to call courtside.”
