Bianca Andreescu has said that Iga Swiatek must be feeling 'invincible', following a strong season so far.
World No. 1 Swiatek has held on to her position at the top of the rankings after a successful year containing a third victory at the French Open and an emotional win at her home tournament in Warsaw.
This came off the back of a fairytale run last season, during which the Polish player built up a 37-match winning streak while competing on the WTA Tour and emerged victorious at both the Roland Garros and the US Open.

Success makes her feel 'invincible'

Speaking to the No Challenges Remaining podcast about the 22-year-old's success, 2019 US Open champion Andreescu, herself only 23, said that Swiatek must be feeling unstoppable at the moment. This is something the Canadian claims to have also felt in the past after experiencing the sport's greatest heights by winning a Grand Slam,
"I do remember that feeling and I would love to get back there. I know Iga is there right now. I think she won Warsaw today. It's incredible what she's doing and I really want to get to that point," she said.
Over the last few years, Andreescu has had to endure injuries such as a torn meniscus in October 2019 and a back injury at the end of 2021.
This has made it harder for her to re-gain that amazing feeling of being unbeatable, and she is yet to get past the third round of any major outside of the US Open.
However, she made it clear on the podcast that she wants to get back to the sport's highest levels so she can once again feel what she claims that Swiatek is experiencing now,
"It is definitely a good feeling," she said, "It just comes with momentum playing matches, you know, being healthy. And that's not really what I have had over the last few years. I'm hoping to at least play three matches in a row that I win and then have that fourth. That's what happened at Miami and then freaking got injured, just bad luck."

Iga Swiatek on Bianca Andreescu advocating for mental health: “I remember I approached her in Toronto last yearz I said that she's doing a great job using her voice to make it more available to people & sharing her experiences so others can feel like they are not alone.”
