Spain’s
Paula Badosa and her boyfriend
Stefanos Tsitsipas are
set to play in an exhibition match in Huelva in July. Both have been together
for a long time and are known as one of the power couples in sports.
As per the latest report, both are now set to feature in an exhibition
event in July later this year. The event will be organised to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the oldest club in Spain. The event will feature four players, including
Badosa, Tsitsipas, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
However, there is a big problem in hosting the event this
year as it will take place in the second week of
Wimbledon. The third Grand
Slam of the year will begin from June 30 where players from all over the world
will participate to showcase their talent and secure the ultimate prize. It is
believed that those four players can refused the invitation if they will be
alive in the main draw of the competition.
It is also interesting to see whether Badosa will be able to
compete in that event, as she is currently taking a break after suffering
another back injury. The injury took place during the third round of the Miami
Open against Clara Tauson, where the 27-year-old came out on top in straight
sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6. Recently, Badosa, while speaking to the WTA’s
official website, stated that her back is ‘slowly getting better’.
“My back is good, slowly getting better,” she said.
“It’s been a tough injury, honestly, this one because it was totally different
from the last one. It was an injury that was touching the nerves, so I was
constantly having pain. My normal life was a disaster, honestly — I couldn’t
even move from the couch. But I was lucky that the treatment, the injections
that I had to do a few have worked. So, slowly getting back there, yeah. But I
