The good news continues to flow for Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur after they both had incredible seasons on the tour with the tennis power couple announcing that they've been keeping a little secret, that being that they are now engaged.
The pair have been together almost five years playing mixed doubles also together at Wimbledon. ironically they will be on opposing sides of the court potentially in short order at the United Cup.
The pair travelled together to Australia but with Great Britain facing the defending finalists, it is set to be an interesting dynamic. But Boulter took to Instagram to show off her new ring in a joint Instagram post.
The duo posed together in a smiling selfie with the Brit draping her arm over the Aussie ace showing off her beautiful ring. "We've been keeping a small secret..." she wrote in the caption.
This also quickly prompted responses from top tennis names including Thanasi Kokkinakis who wrote: "About damn time". Paula Badosa as well as Boulter's Billie Jean King Cup captain Anne Keothavong also congratulated the happy couple.
Albeit the signs were there that this was happening. The British No.1 teased this last week with another Instagram post of sitting in front of the sea in Alicante as the sun set writing: "Today was a good day".
It seems it was even better than good and was likely the day that she got engaged. They have been together through the highs and lows with Boulter perenially getting injured and not achieving her promise.
But she has since become a player on the cusp of the top 20 in the world during 2024 reaching a high of World No.23 and has won multiple titles and reached a final at the Hong Kong Open losing to Diana Shnaider in what was her third final of the year.
De Minaur also reached the top 10 for the first time. Currently ranked World No.9, he was as high as World No.6 in 2024. So for both, it is certainly the best time of their life thus far and one that continues to have great news.
